Melburnians to be allowed to inspect Regional Victoria properties as restrictions eased

Premier Daniel Andrews announced in his recent press conference that Melburnians can now inspect Regional Victoria properties from 11:59pm on November 8. This is great news for Melburnians who are eager to get away from the city for a while.
The easing of coronavirus restrictions in Metropolitan Melbourne will allow buyers to travel throughout the state for private property inspections and to participate at auctions, at which the number of attendees will be limited.
Starting November 9, groups of up to 10 people will be able to inspect homes at the same time in Metropolitan Melbourne. This is a considerable jump from the current one-on-one inspection limit.
According to Real Estate Institute of Victoria president Leah Calnan, group bookings could not be publicly advertised and social distancing rules must be met while inspecting the property.
“Allowing up to 10 people in a private inspection is a good step forward … it will definitely increase the efficiency of being able to show people through properties while still abiding to social distancing and hygiene practices,” Ms Calnan said.
“Metropolitan Melbourne has been following all the rules and regulations set out over the past few months of lockdown and it’s important the real estate industry gets to resume operating in a COVID-safe way.”
The lifting of this restriction means more transactions will be completed as property inspections is important in sealing deals.
It could also mean that vendors can now get themselves on the market and local buyers will be flocking to buy before Melbourne gets released as well.
It is expected that stocks will flurry in regional Victoria as there’s more than enough time before Christmas to get deals done.
Those waiting for the November 9 chance to look at a display home in regional Victoria would risk missing out on $25,000 HomeBuilder grants.
